ScootSafe is a 2 hour coaching session with a DSA approved instructor provided by Leeds City Council. It’s designed to provide young riders on small capacity machines with some basic road craft and build on the skills you learn on CBT.
You get some theory on basic maintenance to keep yourself and your machine road worthy then your out on the road with an experienced rider who’ll help you with road positioning, hazard perception, anticipation and dealing with other road users.
Those aged between 16 & 20 on machines of under 125cc are more then twice as likely to be killed or seriously injured than any other Powered Two Wheeler rider in urban areas.
Improving your riding skills can help you stay safe – stay ScootSafe. You may think it’ll never happen to you, but it happens to riders’ everyday.
Taking a ScootSafe course is free; you must have your own Scooter, CBT certificate, insurance and MOT (where applicable). You’ll get some riding kit goodies and a certificate of completion too.
